In the walled gardens of old Rajasthan, artisans have long turned to the humble poppy and marigold for inspiration — motifs stitched not from pattern books, but from memory passed down through generations of embroiderers. The Bagh-e-Gulab draws its name from this tradition, translating loosely to 'garden of roses,' a nod to the floral vines that trace its edges like paths through a Mughal courtyard.
Woven from raw, textured cotton in an unbleached ivory, the jacket is anchored by two placket borders of dense floral embroidery — rust red blossoms with cream centers, rendered in fine chain and satin stitch, entwined with sage green vines on a moss-toned ground. The same border repeats along the hem and cuffs, framing the garment like a Kashmiri shawl's kinar. At the chest, two solitary sprigs bloom in hand block-printed detail — a quieter echo of the border's abundance, grounded in the same rust and olive palette.
