In the workshops of Rajasthan, where Central Asian suzani traditions found new hands and new dreams, this kimono was born from a single spool of magenta silk floss and an old idea — that flowers and animals belong on the same vine. The embroiderers worked motif by motif, each one a small myth stitched into cloth.
Across the ivory cotton base, deep magenta-purple velvet appliqué rises in bold silhouettes: prowling cats with curled tails, tulip heads on slender stems, and scrolling acanthus leaves that climb the sleeves like ivy finding sunlight. The reverse reveals a quiet surprise — a crisp purple-and-white pinstripe cotton lining, structured and modern against the wild embroidery outside.
Cut long and unstructured, this kimono drapes rather than fits, making it as easy over a slip dress as over denim. It carries its craft without ceremony — the kind of piece that turns a plain outfit into a small exhibition.
