In the bazaars of old Bukhara and Samarkand, Suzani textiles were dowry treasures — stitched by hand, gifted at weddings, carried across generations. The Bibi Blossom borrows this spirit, translating the Suzani vine-and-medallion tradition onto a wearable cotton silhouette born in Jaipur.
Set against a vivid fuchsia-pink cotton base, the jacket blooms with oversized sun-disc florals in deep maroon and burnt coral, radiating like carnation heads caught mid-open. Serpentine vines in forest green curl and coil across the shoulders and hem, punctuated by pomegranate-bud motifs in maroon and salmon thread. A mandarin collar, trimmed in maroon piping and scattered with tiny floral sprigs, frames the face like the border of an antique suzani panel — each stitch laid by hand, none quite identical to the next.
Cut in a relaxed, boxy shape with dropped shoulders and dramatic sleeve width, this jacket is made to be thrown over simple linens or worn as the loudest, proudest layer in the room. It is unlined at the seams in places, intentionally — a mark of the handloom cotton beneath, and of a garment made slowly, by hand, not machine.
