In the walled cities of the old Silk Road, minarets rose against the desert sun like sentinels — a motif that traveled through trade caravans into the suzani embroidery of Rajasthan's needleworkers. This jacket carries that memory: sunbursts and spires stitched onto mustard-gold velvet, worn soft by hand and time.
Two radiant suns in powder-blue chain stitch anchor the shoulders, their rays fanning outward like desert light at noon. Below them, a trio of green minarets rise with pale blue domes striped in crimson — a nod to Central Asian architecture reimagined in thread. Coral pink palm fronds spill down one panel, framed by scattered red and teal flowers, while wavy lines in sage and sky blue ripple across the hem like an oasis stream. The interior reveals a yellow-and-crimson striped cotton lining, hand-sewn by the same artisan hands.
Unstructured and open-fronted, this piece drapes rather than fits — designed to be thrown over everything and become the only thing anyone remembers. No two jackets carry the embroidery in quite the same hand, making each one a small, wearable archive of a craft passed through generations.
