In the old Persian ghazals, the parwana — the moth drawn to flame — became a symbol of devotion and transformation. Here, that same restless spirit takes the form of butterflies, their wings outstretched across a field of camel-gold velvet, as if caught mid-flight through a Central Asian orchard in late summer.
Four large butterflies anchor the jacket in dusty pink and powder turquoise, their wings outlined in deep forest green and bodies rendered in rich maroon thread — a nod to the bold, graphic suzani work of Samarkand and Bukhara. Smaller blossoms in pink and sky blue, each with a maroon heart, scatter between them, while the velvet ground carries a subtler all-over vine embroidery in muted rust, tying the whole garden together. A candy-striped cotton lining peeks through the open front and rolled cuffs, grounding the jacket's fantastical surface in everyday ease.
Cut with a relaxed, boxy silhouette and a soft mandarin collar, this piece is meant to be worn open — over simple separates, where the embroidery can do the talking. Each butterfly is individually hand-stitched, meaning no two jackets carry their wings in quite the same way.
