In the walled cities along the old Silk Road, Suzani cloths were stitched by hands preparing for marriage, for migration, for memory — each medallion a wish embroidered into thread. The Samarkand Bloom carries that lineage forward, its ivory cotton ground transformed into a garden of circular blossoms, as if lifted from a century-old dowry textile and given new life as a jacket.
Across the back, a great central rosette unfurls in rust-orange petals around a cream and burgundy core, ringed by a black vine border in tight chain stitch. Radiating outward, burgundy pomegranate-like medallions — each hollowed with a crescent of cream thread — repeat in a lattice of sprouting black branches, their leaves rendered in short, deliberate satin stitches. The collar and hem bands echo the same burgundy discs along thin rust pinstripes, framing the garment like the borders of an antique suzani panel.
Loosely woven cotton gives the jacket a raw, textural hand-feel, while its relaxed, boxy cut makes it easy to layer over linen or worn open as a statement in itself. No two embroidered panels are identical — the slight irregularities in stitch tension are the fingerprints of the artisan who made it, not flaws to be corrected.
