Along the old Silk Road, where Rajasthani caravans once traded with Central Asian artisans, the suzani tradition took root — a language of thread spoken by women who embroidered their dowries with gardens they carried in memory. This ivory velvet jacket carries that same spirit forward, each panel worked by hand into a tulip garden that never wilts.
Tulip heads bloom in burnt orange and dusty terracotta, their petals rendered in dense satin stitch, while teal and midnight-navy peacock-fan blossoms unfurl beside them. Slender stems in sage and mint-green chain stitch climb the ivory ground, scattered with tiny coral buds. A wavy navy vine and ric-rac trim frame the open front and collar, echoing the borders found on antique Uzbek suzanis. Inside, a crisp navy-and-white striped cotton lining offers quiet contrast to the riot of embroidery outside.
Cut with a relaxed, boxy silhouette and dropped shoulders, this jacket drapes rather than fits — layer it over a plain kurta or denim, and let the embroidery do the talking. No two panels are placed identically, so the piece you receive carries its own, singular garden.
