Along the ancient trade routes where Rajasthan's dyers once met the needleworkers of Bukhara and Samarkand, motifs travelled as freely as silk and spice. This jacket carries that inheritance — a cerulean blue velvet canvas transformed by hand into a garden of Suzani-inspired ornament, the kind once stitched onto ceremonial hangings and bridal cloths across Central Asia.
Ivory-cream tendrils coil across the deep blue ground in bold Suzani vinework — teardrop paisleys, or 'boteh', unfurl beside feathered leaves and eight-petaled florets, each outlined in dense chain-stitch cording. The embroidery moves in continuous rhythm from collar to hem, framed by a border of small rosettes at the cuffs and hemline. Beneath, a fine blue-and-white striped cotton lining offers quiet contrast to the richness above.
Cut in a relaxed, oversized silhouette, the jacket sits easily over both structured and casual wear, its weight and hand-corded texture making it as much a wearable textile artifact as a garment. No two embroidery panels are worked identically — a mark of the artisan's hand, not a machine's repetition.
