Across the mountain passes that once connected Rajasthan to Tibet, traders carried more than spices — they carried symbols. The prowling tiger, guardian spirit of Central Asian textile tradition, found its way onto Tibetan prayer rugs and Rajasthani block-printed cloth alike. This jacket is born from that ancient exchange: a piece of wearable mythology, stitched into the vocabulary of modern slow fashion.
Cut from richly pigmented velvet, the fabric carries a bold vertical stripe pattern alternating between deep magenta and burnt saffron — a palette pulled straight from the courts of Jaipur. Across this striped ground, full-bodied tigers stride and snarl in the classic Tibetan 'snow lion tiger' pose: chest forward, claws splayed, flanked by stylised chrysanthemum blooms rendered in amber and black. The motifs are arranged in a mirrored, medallion-style repeat that gives the jacket a near-symmetrical, almost architectural rhythm across the back and shoulders.
The silhouette is relaxed and open-front — structured enough to wear over a kurta at a winter gathering, loose enough to throw over a white shirt on a slow afternoon. It is the kind of jacket that stops a room without asking to. Each piece is cut from printed velvet panels, meaning every jacket carries a slightly unique placement of the tiger motifs — no two are entirely alike.
