In the walled gardens of old Rajasthan, embroiderers would often pause their needlework to watch butterflies settle on jasmine and pomegranate blossoms — their wings a fleeting echo of the threadwork already taking shape on cloth. The Titli Bagh captures that same suspended moment, stitched permanently into midnight velvet.
Hand-embroidered in rich chain-stitch, four turquoise-winged butterflies outlined in brick red take flight across the jacket's body, their white bodies rendered in raised satin stitch with crimson antennae. Mustard-gold vines coil and sprout in delicate leaf clusters throughout, punctuated by crimson five-petaled blossoms and small white daisies with red centers. A fine red piping traces the collar, placket and hem, while a hidden navy-and-ivory striped lining peeks through at the collar and cuffs.
Cut in a relaxed, boxy silhouette with a standing collar and dropped shoulder, this jacket layers as easily over a slip dress as over denim. The plush velvet ground holds the embroidery's texture beautifully, giving the butterflies a dimensional, almost sculptural quality that catches light as you move.
